Xiaotao Tech is based in Shenzhen. We are developing Kara and sharing actual tests so you can see what works today and what is still being developed.
What functions are being developed?
Printed text reading, finger-pointed word reading and translation, page understanding, spoken requests, and open-ended AI conversation with expressive eye displays. Not every feature is shown in the three main clips.
Does Kara need internet access?
Some reading components run on the device. Online AI services support other functions, including open conversation and some page understanding. Final cloud service terms and costs are not confirmed. The videos do not establish that every feature works offline.
Who is Kara being designed for?
Our original vision includes shared family reading. Formal age guidance, instructions and safety measures are still being prepared. This prototype is not presented as validated for unsupervised child use, and we cannot promise that open conversation will always be age-appropriate.
What will it cost, and where will it ship?
Final price, shipping regions, service terms and delivery dates are being finalized. Signing up does not place an order or guarantee a product allocation.
When will crowdfunding begin?
We are preparing for crowdfunding. Kickstarter eligibility, review, account setup and fulfillment plans still need to be completed. A launch date has not been approved or scheduled. We will announce confirmed information when available.
